The Holak/Dömling groups have successfully solved the cocrystal structure between human PD1 and PD1L - key immunocancer targets. So fare only mouse cocrystal structure or non interacting human proteins have been solved. This comprises a major break through in the cancer immunology area since it will allow the structure based design of new immunocancer drugs not based on expensive monoclonal antibodies such as peptides, macrocycles or small molecules.
